Secretary Yellen Meets With Vietnamese Prime Minister

She discussed trade, security initiatives, and clean energy transition.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen visited Hanoi, Vietnam, this week. She met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to discuss a variety of topics and agreed that close collaboration is key. The United States is Vietnam’s largest export market, and Secretary Yellen congratulated Prime Minister Chinh for the country’s quick transition toward clean energy.

“Along with the International Partners Group colleagues, the UK, and the EU, I was very encouraged by the announcement of the Just Energy Transition Partnership, or JETP, in December, which is expected to mobilize over $15 billion toward your energy efforts,” Secretary Yellen said at the meeting. “It is a priority for our Administration to deepen our economic and security ties with Vietnam in the months and years to come.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Yellen as she engages with foreign ministers regarding common concerns.
  • For U.S. and allied officials to seek God’s direction as they address climate and energy issues.
